Base Camp: Banjar Valley Trek Start Point: Banjar Arrive at Banjar, which is well connected by road from major towns like Kullu and Manali. After reaching Banjar, relax and acclimatize to the altitude. You can explore the local village and get familiar with the environment.
Distance: 7-8 km Trek Time: 3-4 hours Begin your trek early in the morning, heading towards Jalori Pass. The path ascends through lush forests of pine, deodar, and oak trees. The pass offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, and you can spot wildlife like Himalayan Monal, and various species of birds. Upon reaching Jalori Pass, set up camp for the night and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks.
Distance: 5-6 km Trek Time: 3-4 hours The trail from Jalori Pass to Saryolsar Lake takes you through a dense forest, and the route is adorned with alpine meadows and various wildflowers. As you ascend further, the views become more awe-inspiring. The lake is situated at an altitude of 3,400 meters, surrounded by steep cliffs and lush greenery. Upon reaching the lake, take time to explore its sacred surroundings, spend some quiet moments by the shore, and absorb the beauty of this secluded paradise. You can set up camp by the lake for the night, enjoying a peaceful stay in the wilderness.
Distance: 12-14 km Trek Time: 5-6 hours After spending a relaxing night at the lake, begin your return journey back to Banjar. The descent is relatively easier, but it’s still important to be cautious while navigating the terrain. Upon reaching Banjar, you can explore the local market, have some refreshments, and relax after the challenging yet rewarding trek.
